Academic Year Opening Ceremony 2013

Wednesday 25 September - Amphithéâtres de l'Opéra

Place de la République française, 41, 4000 Liège

Addressing the theme of freedom of expression, the first day of the academic year is the opportunity to discuss and reflect upon recent initiatives which have been both thought provoking and challenging. Through the use of original, collaborative work, supported and enhanced by digital technology, these initiatives have called into question, and at times reinvented the ways in which opinions and knowledge are published and circulated. This includes both scientific publication, through the Open Access movement, and the publication of information and opinion in the media through investigative journalism and cartoons.
