As you will quickly realise, the international dimension is present throughout each programme. In order to encourage you to broaden your horizons, to discover other cultures and to meet foreign students, you will have many opportunities for international experiences, beyond just Erasmus exchange programmes.
This type of academic exchange programme remains among the most popular approaches to mobility, and its efficiency in terms of education, cultural discovery and personal enrichment is well established. This is the perfect opportunity to practice a foreign language on a daily basis, to learn about familiar subjects under a new light, acquiring a new experience. With a
network of over 700 institutions, you will have many choices available!

Once you have graduated, you will have the opportunity to apply for a Leonardo scholarship allowing you to do an internship abroad and acquire a first international work experience!
The ULg also offers its students many internships and opportunities to visit Europe as well as other countries.
Many faculties offer joint degrees during the 2nd tier or studies. You will be able to follow, for one or two terms, a custom-built programme in one of our partner universities. Upon completing the master programme, you will receive two degrees, one awarded by the foreign university that hosted you, and one by the ULg. A Belgian degree AND a foreign degree after two years of master level courses: a considerable asset on the job market!
Finally, joint degrees are especially relevant in the context of the renowned Erasmus Mundus programmes. Whether as a coordinator or a partner, the ULg is always part of a consortium of several high-profile universities, in the context of a jointly designed programme aiming at encouraging cooperation and mobility.
The opening up of the university also means that it hosts many foreign students and researchers. The ULg hosts no less than 22% of international students, coming from over 122 countries: this provides many opportunities to open oneself to new approaches.
Finally, the university will give you, at the programme's conclusion, a diploma supplement. This document presents your whole studies, including optional courses, academic exchange programmes, and internships. The quality of this information, as well as its presentation in French and English, is precisely what earned the ULg the European Union’s DS label (“Diploma Supplement”). The ULg is proud of this label, which has been awarded to no other Belgian university.
All these elements contribute in a large part to your personal development, as well as to the circulation of ideas and to the constant evolution of teaching and research within the university.
