HEC-ULg - Master programmes

A solid education and a high level of specialisation

The programme for the various master's degrees relies on the solid knowledge of core concepts that can quickly be exploited as operational skills in various management-related activities (Master in Management), in innovative environments in the industry or service fields (Master in Business Management), or to act as an economics expert within a company, with an open approach to important social and governance questions (Master in Economics).

Each Master offers specialities that combine specialised classes, an internship (in a company, a public body, a research centre, etc.), and a final project.

You can also choose a Master with a focus on teaching, which will prepare you for a career in teaching.

Programme structure

The Master programme offers you

  • an in-depth look at the basic subjects in management in order to start a professional career either in a general field or more closely related to each of these fields
  • a knowledge of a specific skill set or specialisation, providing students with a more specialised profile, helping them find work, pursue further studies on their field or a career in research
  • knowledge of two foreign languages : English (at the C1 level as defined by the EU) and another language (minimum level B2)
  • an understanding of how companies work, and of current economic issues
  • an ability to put the knowledge acquired into practicein complex field situations, by making a comprehensive analysis of the situation and offering relevant solutions
  • the acquisition of a solid set of core concepts that can quickly be exploited as operational skills in various management-related activities

You also continue attending workshops from the Skill Portfolio.

Finally, the 1st year of the Master programme includes an Erasmus exchange with one of 166 partner universities, and the 2nd year incudes an internship worth 10 credits

Learn how to develop creative projects

Master programme with Pluridisciplinary Professional Focus in creative Projects

The specialisation, offered in no other French-speaking Belgian university and based on the ID-Campus project, is offered through the ULg's various masters since September, 2012.

Creativity, at the heart of revival in our societies

Creativity has now become an essential means to meet the challenges of a world that is ever more volatile, evolving and uncertain. For an organisation, the ability to overcome obstacles, react to market changes and seize opportunities results in the adoption of a generally innovative perspective (products, services, business models, processes).

Enabling a creative state of mind

All people have creative abilities : the creative process can be taught and developed. Beyond individual creativity, there is also the question of group creativity and how to manage such groups.

Pluridisciplinarity, a fertile ground for creativity

These challenges also require teamwork or the successful completion of a project based on the interaction of people with different skills and levels of experience.

Programme

For you, this focus involves a post-master : you must hold a master's degree in Management, Business Management or Economics in order to qualify for this programme. Its three components are as follows :

  • one common programme students of all branches, aiming at teaching skills related to the management of creative projects
  • projects split into three phases
  • optional classes chosen among a pool of classes offered by all faculties or partner higher schools

Upon registering, you also choose two subjects among five offered, ensuring that you work on projects whose components are strongly related to your two subjects of choice.
