Advanced Master’s programmes (EU)

Admission for students who are citizens of Member States of the European Union (outside Belgium) to advanced Master's programmes

You can apply for an advanced Master's if you have successfully completed at least 5 years of higher education studies (300 credits/ECTS). 

In order to find out if your diploma qualifies you to enter an advanced Master's programme, please consult the General Requirements for Admission as well as any applicable special requirements.

A request for admission to an advanced Master's course of study must be made using a special application form that must be filled out, and turned in along with other required official documents.

Special case: medical specializations

Medical specializations are now considered advanced Master's programmes. Admission is by competitive examination.  For more information about these examinations, please contact the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine, Tour de Pathologie 2 (bât. Beside clinical specializations, the faculty of medicine also offers a Master's programme in transfusion medicine, and university certificates of competence in these areas: maxillo-facial surgery; sports medicine; endocrinology; neuro-pediatrics; professional pathology laboratory work; long term and palliative care; oral implantology; pediatric dentistry; oral and dental rehabilitation.

The file, which must be submited to the Admissions Office before August 31, must contain the the following documents:

  • a printed version of the application form online duly filled out and signed
  • a copy of your identity card
  • a copy of your diploma, received at the end of secondary studies (baccalaureate)
  • a certified copy of your diploma(s) (along with a notarised translation, if necessary)
  • official copies of grades from each of your years of higher education studies, even for failed years (with notarised translations, if necessary)
  • official documentation of your activities or studies over the last 5 years, if this period is not covered by the studies leading to your most recent diploma
  • a letter giving your motivations for requesting admission

Your file will be transmitted to the appropriate jury. If accepted, you will receive an authorization to register along with information about the registration process in practical terms.

How to register :

After receiving your authorization to register, you can appear in person at the office of the Registration Service (ground floor of central building, Place du 20-Août, 9 à B-4000 Liège).
