Cost of studies

Ordinary registration fees

All the students, of European or non-European nationality, have to pay each year of ordinary registration fees amounting to EUR.
Some formations or particular situatios give right to a cheap rate.

Complementary registration fees

At the moment of your first registration for first or second cycle studies, you are required to pay complementary registration fees, whose amount may vary, and which are decided on for each academic year by the university (from 1923 EUR to 3845 EUR).

At present, these fees are not required to be paid if you have been admitted to a advanced Master's programme (except for several countries) or to a doctoral programme.

At the time of later registrations, the University of Liège may exempt students who successfully passed their examinations.
On the other hand, failure to pass usually makes it necessary to pay these fees, and only their payment makes re-registration possible.

If you find yourself in a situation of assimilation, please notify the Admission Office when you submit your file.

A significant part of this amount must be available to you as soon as you arrive in Liège. There are a series of important expenses that have to be taken care of in the first month of your stay in Belgium (registration, housing payment, buying books and clothes, etc).

The amount needed will be greater if family members are accompanying the student to Belgium.

For information regarding the current price of sample consumption items, see the cost of living in Belgium.

Please note: the University of Liège does not award scholarships.
