Leave of absence for educational purposes

The formula of paid leave of absence for educational purposes makes it possible for working individuals to be granted a paid leave of absence to attend training courses during or outside working hours. This leave is paid by the employer who is then reimbursed by the Belgian Federal Public Service (Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue).

Currently, this leave is only granted to individuals pursuing Bachelor's degrees in public health sciences and business administration. Information sessions are held at the beginning of the academic year.

Practically speaking, people on leave attending these courses are required to have an attendance form signed by their professors and to return it to the Registration helpdesk at the end of each term. A certificate of regular attendance will be issued which is then transmitted to the employer by the student.
