The Bologna diploma

With the Bologna process, a new category of diploma has seen the day within the European Area. This European harmonisation of qualifications aims at improving the legibility and comparison of teaching systems. It aims at making it easier for students to move from one university to another and from one country to another and encourages the integration of graduates on the employment market.

Structure of the "Bologna" diploma

It is made up of the diploma and a diploma supplement. These two documents cannot be separated. The diploma is only valid if it is accompanied by the supplement, and vice versa, and it only exists in one copy.

The diploma supplement aims at providing independent and sufficient information to improve international "transparency" and the fair professional and academic recognition of qualifications (diplomas, university achievements, certificates, etc.). It aims at describing the type, level, context, content and status of the studies completed successfully by the graduate.
