Research activities

Become a researcher by searching...

Research activites is the basis of the doctoral education.  Thus, the choice of the area of research is very important. It is by searching that you will learn to become a researcher, but you will search more successfully if you are interested in and curious about the hidden depths of the discipline. The content of the research topics may be suggested by the doctoral student himself, who may ask a lecturer or a experienced researcher to supervise him/her and become his/her director. However, most of the time, the research topics are proposed by the director, who includes them in the research carried out in his/her department.

Over at least three years, the doctoral student carries out research guided by his/her director and his/her thesis committee who meets him/her regularly. Throughout the work, the results become clearer and choices are to be made. The topic of the research may be revised, corrected, reoriented. Once a year, the doctoral student’s progression is assessed by the doctoral college, according to the terms and conditions fixed by the latter.
