Internships

The University of Liège developed her service offer for the students willing to get a professionnal experience abroad. It concerns students of our university going abroad for a placement.

International Placements: LLP Erasmus

This is for students with a period of work experience as part of their course programme; this placements may only be taken during the course.

  • Term: from 3 to 12 months, can only be taken once during the course.
  • Place: in companies, training centres, etc...
  • Eligibility conditions: identical to those for Erasmus study trips (see conditions).
  • Grants: the amount of an Eramus grant is calculated on the basis of the student's financial situation (calculated using the latest parental notice of assessment and divided into 3 categories under a maximum income level) and that of the host country.
  • Contract: a work experience contract will be signed between the student, the ULg and the receiving institution.
  • ECTS: the placement must be credited in ECTS and included in the results of the year in progress.  It therefore benefits from academic recognition for the student’s course and is therefore a full part of it.
  • Inscription: see Erasmus exchange

The placement may be a part of or added to a “classic” Erasmus exchange in 2012-2013. It will then be financed in relation to this exchange.

Everything regarding the academic aspect (credits recognition, content, period…) of the ERASMUS placement depends on and must be finalised in your Faculty, with your lecturers and the Erasmus head appointed by the Faculty.

The International Relations department remains in contact with the students on placement and is at their disposal throughout their trip abroad. The coordinator of the student on placement in the firm or receiving structure is regularly contacted, in order to ensure that the placement is progressing well and that both parties respect the terms of the placement contract signed.

LEONARDO work experience

This concerns international work experience organised after the student’s course (once he/she has graduated).
