What is the ULg username and password?
Certain internet services provided by the SEGI (email, telephone access to the internet at home, access to Intranet services or to personalised information, connection in public access rooms or to the ULg’s Wi-Fi network, etc.) demand the verification of the user’s identity. To simplify this identity verification process, the SEGI has chosen to attribute a username to each ULg user who makes such a request (called a ULg username to underline its universal character within the ULg), as well as a combined password.
The ULg password is of course personal and must not be communicated to anyone else. In addition internet use through the ULg network is subject to ethical standards and regulations which must be observed.
For ULg personnel, the ULg username takes the form of a string of characters, beginning with the letter ‘u’ in lowercase followed by the six numbers of the person’s administrative identification number (which appears on the ULg wage slips).
Thanks to these codes users can themselves request (in an automated manner via the Web server) the creation of an electronic mailbox (email), the possible rerouting of mail towards another address, the activation of an answering machine and other services which will be provided over time. Finally, the username and password are requested in the everyday use of these services (each time identity verification is necessary).
How to obtain your ULg username and password?
That depends to which category you belong:
If you are a member of the ULg’s personnel,
the SEGI has set up a simple and automatic procedure which allows you to request that your username and combined password are sent to you by the ULg’s internal mail to your professional address.
If you are a visitor hosted by the ULg,
(for example, a visiting foreign Professor or a colloquium participant, etc.), get in touch with your local correspondent at the ULg, who will see to it that you will be allocated a temporary username for the duration of your stay; this will enable you to get connected to the internet when you are on the campus (through Wi-Fi for example, or from public access rooms); nonetheless you will not be provided with any kind of Intranet services (information reserved to ULg personnel and /or students).
How to change your ULg password by yourself?
You can use the password change procedure.
What to do if you lose your password?
1. Request a new password
The procedure to follow depends on which category you belong to:
