The purpose of the Reflexions website

The two principal raisons d'être of the university are research and teaching.  The quality of teaching depends on the quality of research, with university professors being first and foremost researchers who teach.

In Reflexions, the work of ULG researchers is presented, explained, and put in perspective in relation to the state of world knowledge in the field.  Reflexions focuses on the originality of ULg researchers' contributions to the evolution of knowledge.

The main sections of Reflexions

"Headlines"

As the University of Liège covers the full spectrum of subjects,  Reflexions ranges from the social sciences to the exact and life sciences.

Articles presenting the results of research carried out at the Ulg are published in chronological order under the rubric "headlines" and are placed under one of the various categories (Earth, Space, Life, Mind, Society, Sciences, and Technology) or sub-categories covering all activities at ULg.

"Deciphering"

Another mission of the university is to comment on the society in which it exists. This is what writers appearing under this rubric attempt to do. Rather than basing their contributions on their particular research work or recently published papers, they draw on their skills and knowledge in writing on current topics.

 "Science whilst having fun"

The university offers a wide variety of science and the humanities based activities for the general public, organized by various members of the community. In this section, readers are informed of upcoming events.  A summary of or a commentary on such events is also included.
