The ULg becomes the only Belgian university to hold the European ECTS and Diploma Supplement labels
Now a holder of the ECTS Label and the DS label, the University of Liège becomes the only Belgiajn university to possess these two prestigious European awards and joins the very restricted club of 17 European universities (out of over 4000 higher education institutions) distinguished by the European Commission for excellence in its practices concerning higher education.
This event bears witness to the ULg's wish to build on an effective internationalisation on the one hand, and on the other to ensure European visibility to its graduates.
The ECTS label
The ECTS label, obtained in 2009, singles out the European universities who place the quality of the procedures offered to mobility students at the heart of their concerns, and has been attributed to the ULg for a period of 4 years.
The transparency of our institutional information, in French and in English, the putting into practice of European recommendations in terms of mobility (the ECTS system), the quality of the first contact welcoming procedures and of the support offered to foreign students and Liège mobility students...all these are aspects which are today saluted and recognised at European level. This 'certification of quality' places the ULg in the restricted club of European universities whose practices are exemplary.
This success is in particular the result of the remarkable work done
by the teaching and administrative personnel both at the Faculty and
Central Administration levels (Course Program unit, Promotion and
Information on Studies, International Relations, website
administrators).

The DS Label
The DS Label, awarded in 2010, singles out and recognises institutions for the quality of the information which backs up the issuing of its diplomas and their supplements.
The Diploma Supplement is an exhausitive and standardised document which
goes hand in hand with any higher education qualification. It provides
detailed information about the curriculum a student has completed. It
contributes to the recognition of the studies carried out and ensures the greatest possible transparency, be it in terms of other university institutions or
future employers.
It consists of eight sections providing information about the holder of the diploma, the field of study, the institution which awards it, the level and the future paths (academic or professional) it confers, the course programme followed throughout the whole of the curriculum, the national higher education system and any other supplementary information (study periods abroad, training programmes outside the institution, bridging qualifications, etc.).
The aim of this supplement is to offer the student:
