What is a ULg username and password?

Certain internet services provided by the SEGI (the University's General IT service) (email, telephone access to the internet from home, access to the internet from a public internet provider, access to personalised services and information, etc.) require the authentification of the identity of the person using them. So as to simplify this identification verification process, the SEGI has decided to assign to each user a username (called a ULg username to underline its universal character at the ULg) as well as a linked password. The ULg password is well and truly personal and must not be communicated to anyone else. In addition the use of the internet through the ULg network is subject to ethical regulations you are obliged to comply with.

For students, the ULg username takes the form of a chain of characters beginning with the letter ‘s' (lower case) followed by the last six figures of the student's registration (enrolment) number.

Thanks to this username and password the student will be able to request (in an automated way via this Web server) the creation of an electronic mailbox (email) or gain access to various Intranet services (e.g. the Web Portal for students). Generally speaking the username and the password are required each time a validation of identity is necesary.

How to obtain your ULg username and associated password?

To receive your ULg username and connected password a student must be enrolled for the academic year in question.

See the Procedure for obtaining these elements.

How to change your ULg password yourself?

You can use the procedure to change my password.

How long is the ULg password valid for?

Every password used over the course of an academic year automatically expires once the new password for the following academic year is used, or at the very latest at the end of the normal enrolment period for the following academic year.

If the new password for the following academic year is obtained before the end of the normal enrolment period, the Internet services to which the student had subscribed over the course of the previous academic year are automatically renewed. Otherwise a reactivation of these services through the new password is necessary.

The username on the other hand remains unchanged throughout the duration of the student's academic life at the University.

What to do if you lose your password?

You will have to go in person with your identity card and your student card to the ‘Service des Inscriptions à l'Administration des Etudiants', Place du 20-Août, 7, LIEGE.

The new password thus obtained should become operational after a maximum delay of 24 hours.
