The GGA Unit, a centre of improbable encounters

Established at the heart of the University of Liège (Belgium) and pjysically integrated at the Liège University Hospital Centre, the GIGA Unit is a major research centre which devlops activities in the field of biotechnologies.

It is a structure unique in Belgium and one of the few examples in Europe to push so far the integration of academic research and co-operation with specialised business companies, the structures of research valoriastion and the professional training bodies. The GIGA Unit's innovative concept (open laboratories, shared material) favours multi-disciplinary and rests upon close co-operation between research and that of busines.
