An evening in the mind of Serials Killers with Stéphane Bourgoin

Since the death of his companion, the journalist Stéphane Bourgoin has not stopped looking into the phenomenon of serial killers. He tirelessly travels the world to gather their statements in trying to discover what motivates them.

A specialist of serial killers, he made his first programme for French television on this subject, ‘Serial killers: enquiry into a deviancy’, for France 3 in June 1991.

Stéphane Bourgoin will be at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech in February 27 to present his documentary: 'In the mind of a serial killer with Stéphane Bourgoin: the angel of death.’

This film presents the interview he obtained with Donald Harvey, one of the most prolific killers in history, now imprisoned in the high security penitentiary in Warren County, Ohio. Arrested in 1987 for the murder of a patient, Harvey confessed his deed before revealing the existence of dozens of other victims. His motivations remain pretty mysterious, as does the way he chose his victims. This model prisoner with such a slick impression talks about his youth before reciting the long litany of his crimes with a detachment that freezes the blood.

The screening will be followed by a debate led by the Belgian writer Nadine Monfils.

The 10^th edition of the International Festival of Film and Health – ImagéSanté -  will take place from March 12 to 17, 2012.
