Through its responsible approach on the outcome of globalisation, the University of Liege intends to take on its full role as a citizen university. This is why development cooperation is among its priorities. Hundreds of integrated initiatives, involving more than 60 developing countries, are carried out each year. All disciplines and all Faculties are concerned by this solidarity trend.
Aware of its own specificities, the ULg favours four areas of action: academic area, consulting and expertise sector, on-the-ground projects, and education of students and interns.
Convinced that the development problem cannot be faced without approaching the social, economic and cultural context, the ULg encourages integrated development projects in light of a global and inter-disciplinary approach.
Through its methods and its teaching, the ULg hopes to be a factor of change and positive influence, in a mutually beneficial aim, on the quality of the education and research performed in partnership with the Southern institutions. Similarly, in light of an awareness-raising of the realities of the South, it encourages the mobility of the researchers and students.
