Let us first specify that students who are citizens of a Member State of the European Union need only their national identity cards, which are valid in all European Union countries. On the other hand, unless a bilateral agreement has been signed between their countries and Belgium, students from countries outside the European Union must carry a current valid passport.
In some cases, visas will also be required.
Under Belgian law, any person who intends to stay more than three months in Belgian territory during the six months following his or her arrival is required to register with the authorities of the commune where he or she resides.
In Liège, such persons must appear at the Administration Centre in Potiérue, quite near the University. Take all the documentation required for registering at your commune to this address :
