Assistance for ULg students

ULg exchange students and placements abroad

The ULg helps its students to develop their plans for an international placement, and tries to respond to individual circumstances.

• It is possible to combine various forms of means-tested financial aid which are available to students who need it.
• Languages courses are offered before the placement begins.
• A student tutoring scheme is in place (with a former Erasmus student
• Faculty co-ordinators and the International Relations team are available to students
• Procedures are clearly defined to help students to take the required administrative steps, while retaining their rights
• An intercultural preparation is offered by the International Relations team to ULg students who are preparing to leave. These sessions are given in November (2nd term) and in June (1st term and throughout the year)

International doctoral training

The International Relations Service provides financial assistance to doctoral students wishing to take part in seminars or summer schools abroad, as long as this international experience is recognised as part of their doctoral training. Further information  (in French)

Financial aid for incoming exchange students

• Master's grants: Every year, approximately twenty grants are allocated by the University of Liege to foreign students wishing to enroll in a master's program at ULg. Applicants are selected on the basis of a letter of recommendation from a ULg professor. More information

• ULg Research grants for foreign Ph.D. students: these grants are allocated to students from foreign institutions coming to ULg for a 3- to 6- month research stay. More information
