Faculty of Medicine

The ULg's Faculty of Medicine, located on the wooded Sart Tilman campus, offers 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd cycle programs as well as various research programs to approximately 3000 students each year.  The seven programs organized at the Faculty (medical sciences, dental sciences, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, motor skills and public health sciences) all aim to prepare students to become health professionals in the broad sense of the term, each one addressing a particular aspect of the Individual and his/her health.

An in-depth analysis of today's ever-changing society and the development of new knowledge and technologies led the Faculty of Medicine to integrate and develop an innovative student-centred teaching methodology organized around modules and infused with a multidisciplinary approach. This method, known as "problem-based learning", partially replaces  lectures and clinics.  Learning takes place within small groups under the supervision of tutors trained to use this method in which students become active partners and learning takes precedence over teaching.

Thanks to these modern teaching methods as well as the clinical activities organized at the University Hospital Center, the  numerous experimental and/or clinical research programs on offer, and the state-of-the-art technologies developed in our laboratories, the ULg's Faculty of Medicine prepares students to become skilled, self-reliant, efficient professionals, open to the world and the changes taking place within it.
