Role and tasks

Created in 1989 on the initiative of the University of Liege and particularly unique in Belgium, at the request of the economic world (UWE (Walloon Union ofCompanies), Agoria, and Liege Chamber of Commerce), the Company-University Interface aims at reviving the liaison between the University and its external,mainly industrial, partners.

The Interface also has a task of advice and support for the university teams in the economic valuation of their research activities. It also ensures the involvement of the ULg in the local and regional economic development and technological leadership.

Organisation

Enriched with a multi-disciplinary team made up essentially of scientists and engineers, the Interface is organised in departments aiming attreating its 4 broad assignments:
- company-university partnerships:seeking partners and accompaniment in setting up industrial projects;
- valuation of university research:filing patents, granting licences, creation of spin-off companies;
- technological leadership and regional development;
- continued education for companies.
