The law of 19th December 1974 regarding the organisation of professional relations within public services and its application decrees, in particular that of 20th October 1984, are applied within the University of Liege.

Employer-worker relations are governed within the Basic liaison committee. This is in charge of all of the scientific, administrative and technical staff and workers. It is chaired by the Administrator and includes representatives from the Authority and 3 representatives from each of the representative trade-union organisations.
