Insurance

©ULg – Michel HouetYour civil liability is covered by the University of Liège's insurance for your student activities, including abroad.

However, as regards health care, to obtain any treatment in the event of illness, you must acquire the European card from your health insurance company before you leave. We draw your attention to the fact that this is valid for 3 months only. If your stay exceeds 3 month, your health insurance company will extend the card's validity if you simply present your Erasmus exchange authorization (which will be sent to you automatically by A.F.Rogister).

It is also strongly recommended that you take out "comprehensive" type additional insurance to cover accidents which may occur outside student activities, repatriation, etc. If you are going to a country which is not part of the EEA (EU + Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), this additional travel insurance is vital, as these countries' health insurance providers cannot cover you in the event of an accident or illness.
