So that mobility can be at the heart of each student's training programme, ULg is particularly keen to provide those who need it with the additional financial resources they need to carry out their plans.

The University can offer dedicated mobility grants (see list below) thanks to European funds and French Community in Belgium funds but also thanks to its own funds.

The aim of these grants is to offset additional costs linked to spending time abroad.

Erasmus Grants

(For studying in Europe)

The amount of Erasmus grants is not the same for all Erasmus students. It depends on the subsidies received by the institution and the number of applicants.

They are not intended to cover all the expenses relating to studying abroad. They provide partial support intended to offset additional mobility expenses, i.e. travel, accommodation and language preparation costs, if necessary, a higher cost of living in the host country, etc.

The amount of an Erasmus grant is calculated on the basis of the student's financial situation (calculated using the latest parental notice of assessment and divided into 3 categories under a maximum income level) and that of the host country. If you want to know if you meet the conditions to receive a grant and, where appropriate, receive an estimate of the amount, you can go to the International office with a copy of your parents' notice of assessment (for the 2011 tax year).

Receiving two European Union grants for the same period is strictly forbidden (for example, Erasmus and Leonardo grants, or two Erasmus grants from two different countries due to having dual nationality, dual registration, etc.). However, Erasmus grants may be supplemented by the Demaret, Pisart and Duesberg listed below where the student meets the eligibility conditions.

Luxembourg students

Luxembourg students must apply to their home institution to receive an Erasmus grant.

Grants for studying outside the European Union

(For studying outside Europe)

They are calculated in the same way as the Erasmus grants, i.e. they are restricted to students making a study visit during their course and use the same calculation method. These grants are financed mainly by the University of Liège and its "Mobility Fund".

Duesberg Grants - Europe

This grant is for high-performing students (who have obtained at least two grades during their studies at ULg or one grade if they are in the third year of a bachelor's degree) and on low or average income who study abroad with the Erasmus programme. It amounts to +/- €100 per month. It may not be combined with other grants supplementing Erasmus (for example the Pisart grant).

21 december 2012 for exchanges to be carried out in the 2nd term of 2012-2013

Pisart Grants 

This grant is for future civil engineers studying abroad for the whole or part of a year. The amount varies between €70 and €1,500 depending on the study programme and length of stay.
